Yay!!! Other people who have long cycles!

Ahem. I’m the same as you ladies. Only I’ve been off BC for almost seven years. Even before BC my cycles were long, and irregular. My cycles would be 50+ days. We’ve been TTC for about nine months now. So far my longest cycle has been 70 days. As of right now My Dr. is trying to getting my cycles under control. I’m currently on my second cycle of Prometruim. The first cycle on progesterone I was 30 days! Now I didn’t ovulate, because of the Progesterone But I’m ok with it as long as it get my cycles down.

missfrillycoat:  Hi there!  I do have an update but unfortunatly it is not good……….I was waiting for a call from the fertility nurse with results of my bloodwork and they told me that I have high FSH and low estrogen so no Provera for me (it would not work).

After waiting 2 long months we had another meeting with the fertility doctor who now has me taking estrogen, DHEA and CoEnzymeQ10 daily to try and get my brain to reconnect with my ovaries and get this party started.  One calendar days 16-25 I take progesterone in the evenings.  He has not said the words “Premature Ovarian Failure” but that is the idea at this point.  He strongly feels that I should have eggs left because I am otherwise young (32) and healthy.

I have 3 months of the pills and then I will have my blood tested again on the 3rd day of my 3rd cycle.  I was told to have a fun relaxing summer and wait it out!  I am hoping the DHEA will cause spontaneous ovulation.  I had to make a special trip to the USA to get it!  I feel sooooo much better now that I am taking estrogen.  Before I felt like I had a foggy brain and that has gone away.

Anyone else have these issues?

missfrillycoat:  The drive to the US border is about 45 minutes to and hour, not too bad.

In Canada DHEA is considered a steroid!  I did not know until I went ot the Pharmacy and they told me.

I really try not to think about my fertility issues.  I have not had an crying episodes lately when I see other peoples pregnancy announcements.

One week before my last doctors appointment we took a last minute trip to Jamaica and got a great deal.  I really need that time to clear my head.

missfrillycoat:  Good job on focusing on bettering yourself! I am trying to focus on ANYTHING that is not baby related.  Jamaica was awesome and cheap!  We hope to return in the fall if the price ir right.

I am happy that there are other women with Fertility problems that I can talk with.  Unfortunatly those who have not experienced it have no idea!
