I am really started to stress out about these long cycles! Since stopping BCP I have had 45+ day cycles and a CP. I am now on CD 20 and I can already tell this is going to be another long cycle! It is frusterating to know that my months of trying span over several months! Ladies with long cycles, how do you keep from going crazy?!

Do you chart your bbt? I’ve had cycles that range from 35-50 days. Since I was irregular, I started charting and it’s given me so many answers about my cycle. I’m on fertility drugs now, so my cycle is shorter, but it’s definitely easier to TTC when you can pinpoint your fertile week and know when to focus the babymaking!

I’ve been off BCP from a year and a half. My cycles range anywhere from 21 – 60 days and it’s frustrating. I have charted – but it really made it worse. The cycles became longer the more I charted.
Charting works for some people, but didn’t work for me. I def. went crazy. I’m learning to just relax and not focus on it and enjoying the time.

Try to breathe. I know it’s stressful. The cycle before we got our BFP was 126 days long. Before that they were 45-80 days with a fluke 35-day one in there somewhere. All you can do (IMO anyway) is check in with your doctor to make sure your hormone levels are where they should be and you’re healthy, and wait it out. It’s also frustrating to not be able to use OPKs effectively. Charting wasn’t for me because I had an erratic BBT to begin with and wasn’t very good at waking up at the same time every day…or not falling asleep with the thermometer in my mouth…after my cycle restarted I tracked CM and CP and those were good indicators for me. As for keeping from going crazy….after 100 days I kind of stopped thinking about it. That’s not really useful advice, I’m sorry 🙁 Hope this cycle is normal and you get your BFP soon!!

sorry, that must be super frustrating. Expecially when impatient to ttc and have to wait a while for a chance. Maybe you could try Clomid? I have heard it can shorten long cycles. It is just not advisable to take it for more than 6 cycles in a row.

Thanks ladies! I went to the doctor when I had the CP and she wasn’t concerned with my long cycles. She basically just said that we know I can get pregnant. I guess just try to distract myself and enjoy all the BDing 🙂

I am on cycle day 141 since stopping BCP (coming up on 5 months now). I agree with capitalbee – after about 50 days I kind of stopped thinking about it. I had a tiny amount of spotting and cramps yesterday after my 2nd dose of provera, but today nothing. I was really hopeful this time.
All we can do is wait. It is the most annoying thing ever.
