I feel your pain. After going off BC my cycles were anywhere from 35 to 60 days. Luckily I WAS ovulating so we were able to conceive Warren… but it is frustrating to have only 1 chance to everyone else’s 2 🙂

I’m charting again since I just got my cycle back (still nursing) and on day 24 and still haven’t ovulated. I know it’s ok and ‘normal’ – but yes frustrating because it doesn’t feel like what normal should be. At least I’m charting all my signs so I’ll know when I do ovulate and will know when to expect AF without contstant ‘waiting’.

From the first time I started getting my period, my cycles were about 7 weeks long. After I went on the pill, whenever I’d go off, my first cycle would be about 7 weeks, and then the cycles after that would be anywhere from 5-6 weeks. Maybe every once in a while I’d get a 30 day cycle, but that was not the norm. And one time, several years ago, for no apparent reason I didn’t have a period for 3 months. My cycles have always been wonky. I definitely feel your pain.

Mine are longish – all have been over 30 days since going off the pill with the average around 35 days.  And, I usually don’t ovulate til day 20 or later….and one month I ovulated on or after day 26 (hence, a 40 day cycle!)

I definitely wish I had the “standard” 28 day cycle = more chances to conceive!

My first cycle off BC was about 200 days, and my second was about 120 days … I worked with my family doctor to get some blood work done, and we are assuming I have PCOS, so I started metformin. I am hoping it gets things regulated! I am on cycle day 15 right now …

Long cycles here. I went off of birth control about a year ago, and my first cycle off of it was 84 days! It has gotten better since then, but my shortest was probably 38 days, and my average is around 42. Ialso did just have a miscarriage, and my first cycle after the miscarriage was relatively short. So I’m not sure if that will kick things into gear and help me regulate with shorter cycles, but I’m still waiting to find out!

I find that charting my temps helps me to not go crazy. As soon as AF shows up, start doing that so you aren’t going batty!

I have been reading your posts daily and am in the same boat! We have been trying since our wedding in October. In June I had a hysterosalpingogram and u/s and all was good. Got my period June 30 and that was 30 days from my previous one. I normally run 26-28 days. So now I am on day 33 days and still nothing! 2 negative HPTs and had a serum hcg yesterday which is negative si I have no clue whats up either!

I average 33, but have had 2 40s.  They seem to come out of nowhere….

Ugh, I hear you on the ridiculously long cycles.  After coming off BC, it was about 3 months between cycles, then I had a m/c in July of last year and it sort of regulated it back to a five week cycle.  That lasted for all of 4 months and now it’s anywhere from 28 days (just once, and caught me completely off guard!) to 52 days (this past cycle), usually averaging around 40 days.   I envy those girls whose cycles come like clockwork!

PCOS and insulin resistance issues have led to my cycles being all over the shot. I started out at 120+ days, averaging to 50 now. It’s ridiculous. Kind of heartbreaking not to be ovulating too. Fingers always crossed though!

My first cycle of BC pills was about 45 days, which is about normal for me based on my pre-BCP cycles.

Then nothing for months. I got pregnant on my second cycle, and I believe I ovulated on CD133!! Then I miscarried at about 6 weeks 🙁

It is now 108 days later, and nothing. Pregnancy tests are showing up negative (and I know I’m not one of those people who doesn’t show up on HPTs because of my previous pregnancy).

So I totally feel your pain! I’m not temping, but I’m not getting any patterns with CM. At least I know I do ovulate, but man, it drives me crazy. I’m going to see my doctor this week.

I think your plan to test after what you think is your TWW based on CM is a good idea. That is what I did/do. I might start temping but it really seems like a waste to have to temp for over 100 days for one ovulation.

@jaguar: How did you get your cycles down to 50 days??

@nskillet: Aw, thank you so much! Yep.. secretly, we’ve been TTC for almost eight months now – but it’s nice to be able to ‘officially’ come out and declare it, you know? 🙂

@babymakes3: Starting Metformin helped to get my cycles down, and I lost about 25lbs too, which I think helped. Unfortunately for the past few months I’m still stuck at 50+/- cycles, and I can’t seem to shake it. I don’t mind the long cycles – I just wish I was ovulating !!!
