I would go sure. 2nd trimester is nothing compared to first (in my experience). I went on a 12 hour trip at 20 weeks and didn’t even have to stop to pee as much as I thought. We literally were stopping for other non-preggo people more than me. Go, have fun!! This will be the last times you can do a road trip like this for a long time!!!

I’m also taking a plane flight at 16wks and driving 6 hours each way at 7wks, 23wks and 27wks. Can anyone reccomend some good compression socks? What level compression? Knee high?

kimberlystews :  I wouldn’t worry about it at only 17 weeks. If you were 37 weeks it would be a different story….

JLBB-brooklyn :  I got some knee high ones for a six hour flight to Hawaii and they were great. They are not specifically for pregnancy, just for athletics. I’d just google it.

I was 36 weeks pregnant when my husband & I drove (about 16 hours) from New Jersey to Missouri to spend time with his parents. I was fine, I just had to walk around ever so often.

I agree with PP’s, definitely go ahead & make the trip because once the baby comes road trips become even more complicated! Lol

At 17 weeks I don’t see an issue. Just follow your doctor’s advice and move around a bit every few hours and you’ll be fine.
