YES! Two Marines Moving. They are a local company in the DC area. I used them for an out of state move out of DC awhile ago and could not have been more pleased. Cost about $2500 to move my 1 br apt halfway across the country. That actually turned out to be the lowest quote I got from the 5-6 companies I queried, I think because they happened to already have a truck going to my new city at the right time so I could piggy back onto that. They were awesome…super professional, efficient, punctual, handled all my stuff with amazing care. Also, what they quoted me and put in my contract was exactly what I ended up being charged.

If you’re looking for a more budget friendly option, you could do a pod. My husband used one of those pod services (unfortunately i cannot recall the name) when he moved out of the DC area to the midwest and I think it cost more like $900…although it’s definitely more of a hassle than using actual movers.

Nabrani0915 :  Just be careful. You may hire a nationally known company, but they may subcontract their work to “We Don’t Care About Your Junk Moving Co”.

I’ve moved twice. Once was a piece of cake and the 2nd time it was subcontracted. Also, make sure you have a closed contract. So that way they can only add a small percentage on when they drop off your stuff. This 2nd company tried to gouge me for a lot more or they wouldn’t take my stuff off the truck. So I told the big, burly drivers I have a closed contract, they called their boss, I paid the little amount that I had originally been told would be due, and I got my stuff!

tiffanybruiser :  I’ve also used Two Marines Moving twice and loved them!  I only moved throughout the DMV so I don’t know how their long distance moves are, but after using a different company for our last move, I plan to go back to TMM for sure.
