yep.  right now we have a 2.5 year engagement (even though we are seriously contemplating eloping now cause it’s been highly stressful).  Honestly I hate the long engagement, likely bc it wasn’t what we envisioned having in the first place and we pushed our date back due to familial pressure.  It drives me nuts cause sometimes I wonder what the point of getting engaged was if we are waiting so long, we should have just done it next year.

I have no advice really.  Luckily work and other stuff keeps me very very busy.  Just hang in there.  I’ll refrain from saying it goes by really fast cause when you think about it everyday, it really doesn’t go by that fast, lol.

We’re 14 months into our 22 month engagement. Time has been flying, but in the last 14 months we bought a house, moved into said house, and got a puppy. Things have been BUSY haha. But now, not much is going on and time is starting to drag. I’ve been trying to keep busy by making many to-do lists, and starting a lot of DIY projects, to save myself the stress later!

I hate long engagements, reason being it gives you time to second guess everything :/

We are approaching our wedding day next week, after 15 month engagement…there are serious drags of time, but the last 3 months goes fast, and the last month even faster, and the last few weeks…WHOLY COW!! Best advice I can give you, just enjoy the moments and your time w/ your fiance

Yep, I’m with you guys. I’m 16 months into it, and have another 10-12 to go. I was deployed six months after I got engaged, so that’s the hold up. When I get home –  (and yes I’ve been using my free time to pick out every friggin’ little detail of what dresses I’ll try on, what color the invitations will be, what kind of menu and desserts we’ll ask about) – I’m going to have to start making some decisions, buy a dress, nail down a venue, etc.

I’m trying to look at the bright side – at least I can say I’ve seen EVERY dress from EVERY bridal house, and I know what dresses I’ll be trying on, LOL.  But yes, I’m tired of waiting!!!!!

I feel your pain.  We were engaged in August and do not plan on getting married until November 2012.  I know that I will have a tough time waiting, but we’ve been dating for quite a while so I waited for an engagement, too;)  I am worried that I will change my mind a million times, but I am excited to have all that time to plan and find the best deals!

@Prettyinpink89: Totally agree. So far I have second guessed every single decision I’ve made.

Our was/is going to be 17 months…and now I’m down to 37 days.  Honestly, it goes quite quickly.  I just worked on getting all of the large tasks done nice and early so 6 mos out I wasn’t freaking out about things.  But now it’s the smaller details…and so there is always something to freak out about!  Surprised

I am 7 months into a 2 year engagement and i am having a ball lol

I try to think about the fun stuff and realize that this is the only time in my life i will be engaged! It also helps that I have been helping plan my BFF wedding which is Oct 2nd of this year. That helps pass the time a lot.

Honestly, we are a 1.5 till the big day and I think time is going to FLY!  Just busy yourself with DIY projects and wedding blogs for inspiration 😀 thats my advice
