@EffieTrinket:  I think this would be your -1 anniversary. (because when you get married, that’s your baseline or year 0, and the next year is your first anniversary.) I say celebrate! You could start a trend!!

@EffieTrinket:  Cute idea!  Our engagement isn’t as long as yours (will be almost 16 months by the time the wedding comes along), but on the anniversary of our engagement we just did a quick FB post…nothing more than that.  I like the -1 year anniversary idea!

@EffieTrinket:  I’m a believer in taking as many vacations as possible! If SO proposes before the 1 year mark of our wedding date then I definitely want to go on a -1 anniversary trip. I say  do whatever feels right, especially since you guys will most likely be stressed for a good amount of that year anyway – it’ll be a good excuse to relax before all the crazy starts.

Yes!  Although, our wedding anniversary is the same day as our regular anniversary (first date) so it makes justification much easier.  We went with our parents to the zoo where we had our first date, and where we’re also having our wedding – mainly showing our parents around the event locations.  I like any excuse to celebrate so of course I think you should do something nice for your -1 year!

Any excuse to celebrate works for me! We will have about a 20 month engagement, and now I totally want to celebrate in August on our -1 year anniversary. We already celebrate our dating anniversary on July 28, and we plan to celebrate our engagement anniversary on December 12, so i love the idea of another day to go out for a fancy dinner and drink champagne.

We went out to dinner on our ‘one year until the wedding’ anniversary or our ‘-1’ year anniversary. I think we are also going to go out to dinner to celebrate our 1 year since we were engaged day. We just like to find any excuse to spend the money to go out to our favorite restaurant hehe.

I like this idea… We got engaged in January and decided February 7th officially that we would be getting married February 8, 2014 so we didn’t have much time to really think about that. Instead we had a day of me going… “At this time next year, we’ll be getting ready for our wedding”, “at this time next year we’ll be officially getting married”, “at this time next year, we’ll be at our wedding reception”, etc. lol An actual celebration would’ve been way more fun!

We had a 2 year engagement and we still celebrated. Now that we’re married, we still celebrate the “when we became a monogamous couple” anniversary.

I should probably mention though that I love celebrations and gifting. 🙂

No. It happened to be the day we left our shore house. So we just walked the boardwalk and hung out.

We did!  But we had a party, because we hadn’t yet had an engagement party or a housewarming party, so we lumped them all together and celebrated with family and friends.  It was fun!

I say the more excuses to celebrate life, the better!

We did!! We went out for a nice dinner (we never do this haha) and then had a personalized mini ice cream cake made for us to sit at home and eat while cuddling to a movie.

June 14th 3013 is actually the day of my graduation ceremony 😉 so that will be a celebration in itself. The next day we’re going to a Taylor Swift concert in Toronto and staying in a nice hotel so we’ll use that as our celebration. We typically try to find any possible anniversaries to celebrate that we can 😉
