    I know the feeling.

We are getting married at our home, but we don’t even own a home. We’re doing this our way, so in the mean time I’m patiently waiting.

We’re looking at October 2013, so a little under 2 years.  So far I’ve started emailing/contacting reception/ceremony venues for pricing so I can get that info organized and we can decide where to go.  I’ve also bought like 4 bridal magazines and gone through marking things I like (and noting things I don’t like)

I figure computer research will take up the rest of this year, then the site visits, etc will start early 2012.

Our engagement works out to be four years (plus 1.5 years of agreeing to get married but not being officially engaged).

We are waiting until we graduate from university to get married, but we also felt that it was important to us to demonstrate to people the level of commitment we have to each other, because by the time to agreed to get married, we were no longer “dating” — we were in our minds engaged, so we chose to make that decision public.

Mine will be about 2.5  Fi will have finished grad and I will be in my last year.

Something that irriates me is when people tell me I have SO LONG to plan….
I am a very indecisisve person and will probably be changing my mind all the way up to the wedding.  ๐Ÿ™

we got engaged in november 7th of last year and will be getting married August 4th 2012, so a 21 month engagement. I was so excited when I announced our date near the end of november last year, but we got mixed reactions from family and friends. Some thought we were waiting too long. We wanted to save money though, and have the wedding we really wanted… so they got over it. I just got so sick of people looking at me weird when I told them our date… it’s so much better now that it’s this coming summer. I am so glad for the most part that we went with the longer engagement because I’ve been so relaxed with the whole wedding planning thing. Besides…time sure does fly!

Wow you guys make me feel old in engagment yeas ;). We got engagment in Nov. 2008 and aren’t getting married until Oct. 2012.

We were just graduating college at the time and haven’t been able to afford it since. The crappy economy had us both in crap crap jobs until this summer. ๐Ÿ™

26 months! The main reason is because we are funding it by ourselves and needed the time to save up. I SO can’t believe we’re only about 7 months away now.. NUTS!!

Congratulations! I remember when I hit my two year mark. When we get married we will have been engaged for 2.5 years. When we got engaged in Jan 2010 I really wanted to get married in fall 2011.. my fiance didn’t want to get married in 2011. At first I was disappointed but noe I am SO thankful! We had 3 close friends get married in 2011. So busy! And now we have had that much more time to save and plan and I’m very happy with it.. our wedding is now less than 7 months away! Time flies, seriously!

We got engaged dec. 20 2009 and are getting married dec. 20 2014…so yes we have a super long engagement. Due to the fact that im still in school, but he says he doesnt mind waiting cause he knows im commited to being his wife. So far ive gone vender shopping, and narrowed it down to 3-4 favs in each category, picked a cake design, dress (but havent bought it), flowers, invitation design etc.

Me and Wil got engaged on the 27th August, and our wedding isn’t till 2015!  I love having a long engagment as it gives me time to do things at my pace and get really excited about it ๐Ÿ™‚  Plus all his family is in the states so they need time to save up to fly over here for the big day!

26 months not by choice. We had an original date of this past August but due to both sets of parents putting up a fuss AFTER we made deposits and sent Save the Dates, we cancelled our Destination Wedding and are getting married locally.  Change of location doubled our budget so we needed more time to save.
