  • Cut back on brushing it (switch to wide tooth combs and use them gently)
  • Scalp massage
  • I’ve heard that if you “shock” your hair with cold water at the end of the shower, it makes your hair shinier and closes the cuticles that have opened up in the warm shower (making the hair more fragile)… can’t guarantee it works, but I read it somewhere… no guarantees I read it anywhere reliable lol
  • Cut back on washing it to a few times a week

Protein!  Drink protein shakes, it’ll make your hair grow.

My hair grows insanely fast! I have really dry, thick hair so I only have to wash it once a week, don’t really have time to blow dry it and I only brush my hair after I wash it. Oh and my hair is up in a ponytail or bun 24/7. I use the ouch less bands that don’t break my hair.

Good luck! Wish I could give you some of mine…I can’t stand my long, thick hair (want what you can’t have :P)

Just read your comment about having oily hair…have you tried using dry shampoo or baby powder (that absorbs oil)?

How often do you get trims? Because your hair grows on average 1/2 inch a month. In my experience when you go in and tell them to cut 1/2 inch they cut 1 inch, you tell them 1 inch, they take 2 off. lol. So they actualy may be cutting too much off and it doesnt have time to grow. I would go every 6 months ( it should grow up to 3 inches ) and tell them to cut off 1/2 an inch… You will probably end up with about two inches of growth then, 4inches in a year.

Also, each person has a point where their hair come to the end of it’s cycle and shed, for some people this can happen when their hair is about your length, for other people it can get much longer. Theres no way to push your hair past it’s natural maximum length as far as I know.

There is a beauty brand called Phyto that has amazing hair products.  They have supplements that you can take and serums that you can apply directly to the scalp.  I always lose my hair in the fall for some reason and use their thickening products.  It’s worth a look!
