- Wedding: August 2011
I’m looking for a place that’s not a “wedding factory”, something more unique and memorable… My absolute unobtainable dream place for a wedding would be a museum in NYC liked the Museum of Natural History or the Met, Guggenheim, etc… Unfortunately that is not possible at all so I’d love recommendations for similar artsy, unique places in Long Island or Shoreline Connecticut (preferably west of New Haven).
We plan on having around 200 people at the wedding so a bigger venue is necessary. For venues with in-house caterers, our absolute maximum budget is $120pp ++ but would like to keep it lower than that.
We’ve looked at the more typical wedding halls and might go with the North Ritz Club or Fox Hollow if we can’t find anything more interesting…but it would just feel like i’d be settling on these places. If anyone has experiences with those venues though, i’d also love feedback on them!
Possible places i’d love to check out: Nassau County Museum of Art, Vanderbilt Mansion in Oakdale, Bourne Mansion, Sparkling Pointe Vineyards, Bedell Cellars,…not sure if these are within my budget or not…
