I had my wedding a few weeks ago at the Milleridge Cottage in Jericho, LI and it was great.  I was a little skeptical when I first went to look- because lots of places in Long Island are very wedding factory, but this was not at all.  It’s very charming- it has a kind of village that surrounds the parking lot, with an Inn from the 1600s, and a bakery, florist and other shops. The inside of the Cottage house is really gorgeous, lots of glass windows.

I was very sensitive to the tacky factories, I was ready to never see another chandelier in my life, and when I went to see the Milleridge it was a breath of fresh air.  And did not break the bank.

Good luck!

I had the same issue–it was tough finding any places in CT.  The Loading Dock in Stamford is pretty cool, it’s a more modern loft space–blank slate.  Then there’s Lockwood Mathews Mansion in Norwalk.   And Tarrywile Park and Mansion in Danbury.

I went to a wedding at L’escale in Greenwich.  It’s a pretty restaurant right on the water.  Not sure of the $$ though
