So I have a small makeup collection but don’t wear it that much so haven’t worrie about long lasting, good quality makeup but I’d like to wear some for the wedding. Just wondering what your experiences were with lipstick, mascara, eyeshadow, blush with brands or products. I know the spray yourself with hairspray trick to help it stick, but also wondering what your favorite product is.

clinique superfit. THat stuff stayed all freakin’ day! i slept in it and it was still there in the morning. i finally got sweaty (a slight glisten) by 11pm though after dancing for a solid couple of hours.
Hairspray makes me break out and is too sticky for my taste.
I like bare escentuals and laura mercier, but i highly highly highly recommend a makeup artist for the day of. i saw the clinique lady and she was FABuloso. She’s getting all the pics of my girls in their makeup too for her personal portfolio.

Lorac is a great long lasting lipstick! Get it at Sephora.

Wait, what is this hairspray trick you speak of? I don’t think I’ve ever heard of it.

Thanks for the suggestions, is there a better product than hairspray to spritz, sometimes my skin is sensitive too, though i haven’t broken out cause of hairspray, but it does feel sticky. I’m really a bit scared of having my makeup done professionally, everytime I’ve come home from one of those beauty parties it’s well done but so not me. My sister is going to help me, she knows my style and usually does it for going out type of events.

My makeup artist used MAC products, which was my first experience with them, and everything held up wonderfully. If you really want long lasting I suggest looking into makeup primers. They have primers for your lids, lips, and face and they really help with staying power. They also have a spray you can apply after you’re done appying all your makeup to help everything stay which is probably way better for your face than hairspray.

Lorac for lipstick – hands down
use a primer (mac or makeup for ever) for face and eyes before you put on your foundation etc
love nars foundation tho mac has a powder-liquid foundation that is great too

nycbride09 offers a great tip for making sure your makeup lasts – PRIMER!!! I use Benefit “that gal” brightening face primer and my makeup lasts a long night of tearing up the dance floor. It smells de-lish too!!
