We did longer rows of tables (2 tables together) and it worked really well. All our guests really enjoyed it and complimented us on how much they talked with everyone at their table, etc. We put a lot of thought into who sat with whom and groupings of people. I found it worked really well for larger friend groups who I wouldn’t have wanted to break into two tables like my parents neighbours.

    Here’s how we had it:

@Dandelion D:  It’s kind of hard to tell in the photo, but there are breaks between the tables, it’s not one HUGE line. Like I said, I think the key to success was putting a lot of thought into groupings of people. It was awesome after the wedding to see all these new friendships formed on FB because of our reception seating, LOL!

Ah ha! I found the floor plan for you! Sorry, it’s a screenshot from CAD, but you get the idea. The big oval thingy is a firepit my venue built (surprise!!!)…

I think we’re probably doing long tables. Our venue just has rectangles…but I think I like the idea of putting two of them together to make a longer table. We just need to figure out how it will best fit!
