- Wedding: September 2011
Our wedding day was an amazing day. Most of the pics in the recap are just details or me. Hubby doesn’t want his picture posted on the internet and I have to respect his wishes.
The girls day started at 7am. Although I was awake before my alarm. This gave us time to wake up before the hussle and bussle started. My wonderful sister did my hair and my cousin/bm did the girls hair.
I had someone come to the B&B we were staying at and she did our makeup. She did an amazing job. And for not being able to have a trial I was more than impressed.
Apparently the boys morning was a little more hectic than ours. My sister and her friend cooked us girls breakfast and then it was time to get ready.
Here is the BM’s dresses:
Now it was time for me to get dressed. Mom helped me with this.
Here are my shoes and my something blue, which my wonderful sister stitched into my dress the night before.

My garter, which my sister made with lace from our mom’s wedding dress and the tie our dad wore.
And our bouquets:

And myself from the back after I was all ready:
Then it was time to head to the church. The girls went ahead in a car together. My step-dad and mom drove me to the church. This was really nice to have this time with them before everything happened. My step dad even offered to keep driving as we approached the church, just in case I had changed my mind.
Our ceremony was about 20 min in length, which everyone thought was just perfect.
Then we did some family photos outside of the church. There is this one of myself that I absolutely love, and I didn’t even know it was being taken.
Then we went to the beach for pictures with our wedding party and then our bridal shots. It was a bit windy but other than that the conditions were great. My veil ended up falling out due to the wind but I had planned on taking it out at some point, so it worked out.
After pictures we went to the local pub and met up with some of our wedding party. We had about an hour, and it was just nice to relax, have a drink and a snack. We all transported ourselves that day, as with the ceremony and reception being a ferry ride away it just made sense. We then had a 20min ferry ride to head to the reception. It was nice to have this time to ourselves, we stayed in the truck and swapped stories from the morning, while anticipating the rest of the evening.
We arrived at the reception and had to wait outside for a few minutes, and being a bit cool, Darling Husband kindly lent me his jacket. Here I am waiting with two of my BM’s.
Finally it was time to enter. First order of business was eating, and it was a good thing as I was sooo hungry. I knew that this would be the case, so I planned the night around this. While everyone was still eating we went table to table to say hi to everyone. We went separately which I really liked and it didn’t take too long as we only had 11 tables.
Then it was time for speaches and cake cutting and the first dance. After the first dance the band started up and the party began. It was such a great night and we spent most of it on the dance floor. We dance a couple dances together and then each pretty much did our own thing until near the end of the night were we dance again together until it was time to go.
Here are a few of the details from the reception.
Our fingerprint tree that I got from etsy. Everyone loved this and it now hangs in our bedroom.
Our cake which his aunt so kindly decorated.
An overall feel of the reception.
