I had the same idea as kfricke89.  A lot of dresses seem to come with them lately – with some of them they either seem like a part of the dress, or really complete the look perfectly.

I know several designers, including Alfred Angelo, have beautiful bolero jackets that match many of their gowns.  I agree that shawls are not as attractive, but some boleros are GORGEOUS!!

these are 2 from alfred angelo, there are many more out there, maybe if you ggole bridal bolero jacket.  David’s bridal also has a few

Hope these help!

I’m not sure about designers or places in Chicago specifically, but if you check out thesliverhanger.com or beautifullymodest.com you may find some options. Another site would be eternitygowns.com, they have more long sleeve options. There are many options for LDS brides that may work for Greek Orthodox as well, and I know that silverhanger has a lot of different designers listed under ‘shop for dresses.’ I hope those help find some styles you like.

@futureturano: http://www.allurebridals.com actually has a ‘modest’ section, and their fashions seem to be in line with the modern styles, just with covering straps or cap/longer sleeves. I prefer these over most beautfullymodest dresses myself.

Is there a particular style you like or love the look on you that just needs to be more covering? That might help the bees find options to go with it or find similar modest dresses.

Happy hunting!

My dress is a strapless gown, but I am having them add sleeves. When you go shopping, ask the sales woman about that option.
