Okay ladies, here is a doozy:
I have been friends with a girl since I was 12 years old. We are now 25 and 26. We have planned our weddings since we were in middle school, and I was recently her maid of honor this last July. The problem is she is the most unreliable friend. We make plans and she either cancels or doesn’t show up. I moved away for a job a year and a half ago so I paid to go back home to be in her wedding. I came home this Christmas and the day before my flight she says she will be in town and wants to meet my fiance. We planned the day and everything was set. Good thing I didn’t hold my breath because she didn’t even send me a courtesy TEXT (lowest of low imho) to say she can’t make it. Then she didn’t bother to wish me a Merry Christmas, buy the present she said she budgeted for me, or wish me a Happy New Year. It feels like she was unreliable before, but now that she is married before me and has had a kid before me she feels she has somehow finally “one upped me.”I am so fed up with how flaky she is I think its best to end the relationship. I have hidden her posts and her chat on facebook, but I haven’t had the heart to fully delete her yet. It also means she won’t be my Maiden of Honor come my wedding time, which she will obviously notice she isn’t when I am married and she wasn’t invited….. perhaps I am being a bit silly about it. Some friendly conversation and advice on the subject would be appreciated. I am a bit uncertain how to proceed after the things I have mentioned I have done already.
