I’m having a beach wedding and will have a long flowy veil (my dress does have a train and have “some” drama).  I agree, photos with long veils come out amazing, especially when it is blowing in the wind! I don’t think it will look strange at all.  Go for it!

I’m getting married on a beach as well. I had a lot of people reccomend me to get a shorter veil because of the wind. I’ve seen girls get all tangled up in their long veils and have it ruin their hair. Our travel agent was just at a really windy wedding in Hawaii and the wind was blowing so hard to half ripped out of the Bride’s hair and left her updo undone even though it was secured with a comb and lots of pins and hairspray. Not something I want to worry about at an outdoor wedding. I’m opting for an elbow length veil.
