I hesitated to do this but I am in need of good vibes.
I interviewed for a new job (after 6 years at my company) about a month ago. It really went well, and there was constant communication during and post interview process. I feel it would be a great step and at this stage, any movement is good movement. But like anything, life gets in the way.
The internal conflict I’m dealing with is how the process got delayed. I’m in a Sandy affected geographical area (not directly, thankfully, God Bless those poor people) but enough that we were impacted, and I was told there was a delay because offices were closed, communication was down. My first check in was to ensure everyone was fine, because I was concerned. There was a response saying they were behind due to this, but there’s been little communication since. I am hoping this is just because everything got delayed by two weeks, in addition to a busy time of year, and not that it’s bad news. But I can’t stop my brain from going there. I know this sounds selfish, but with the holidays coming I thought this would have been wrapped up by now – yes or no. It’s hard to believe it can still be good news, but I realize it’s beyond my control what happened and that this was a “big” issue. I just want to have peace of mind.
Not sure how long it would typically take from interview to hiring. My current job was pretty quick (within 2-3 weeks) but there was a 5 month lag from applying to interviewing. I’m not sure if anyone has any experience. I know every company is different. Maybe it typically takes longer?
Sorry for rambling. I just needed to vent. My parents and SO have heard enough. Just felt good to type it. 🙂
Happy Thanksgiving all.
