blushingbee2019 :  I was on the pill for 11 years (17-28). My doctor said when I come off of it to wait three cycles for it to regulate then beging trying. I also started prenatal vitamins three months before trying. We got pregnant on our first try 🙂 and I am currently 16 weeks along!

I don’t even remember exactly how long I was on BCP…. 13 years… maybe 15? Idk. I got pregnant the first cycle off of them.

I was on it for 10 years and fell pregnant 6 months after going off it. That said, during those 6 months I had no period for 3 of them. My cycle had a hard time regulating back to a normalish cycle (FYI it was never completely regular before the pill, but it was always within a normal range). When I did fall pregnant, I worked out that it still wan’t regular and I ovulated late. Oh and by the way, going off the pill made my skin break out badly. It was (and still to an extent is) like I’m 16 again. Unless you are getting older, wait until after the wedding.

I was on BC for 9-10 years. I had two weird cycles like 45 and 37 days and the third cycle I fell pregnant. Our little one is 4 now and we are TTC for number 2. I would consider going off them first but you might want some control over your cycle for the wedding. I also never went back on the pill, felt so great off them and dropped 4kg!

Everyone is different!! Best of luck x

I was on the pill from 17 to 28. Went off at 28 to TTC and it took me 10 months. Decided not to go back on after I had my baby in case we try for another in a year or two.

I’ve been off the pill since August and I have yet to have a period… praying my cycles will regulate soon so I can get pregnant.

I was on the pill for 10 years.  I stopped taking it about three months before we wanted to TTC.  I got pregnant the second month of TTC, so it was 4 months after stopping the pill.  If we had wanted to, I think we might have been able to get pregnant faster than that, because I had regular cycles pretty much right after stopping the pill, but we weren’t trying right away.

I was on the pill for for about 6 years. My cycles regulated right away and I got a BFP the first month of TTC which was the third cycle off the pill.

I can’t answer the conceive question but I’d like to advise you not to come off untill the wedding! Coming off the pill can set your hormones off as they start to regulate and get back to normal. You may experience mood swings, unexpected acne, heavy or unpredictable periods etc! All things that you DON’T want for a wedding day. Also I’m not sure about you but what if you do conceive immediately and are pregnant for your wedding…

I was on the pill for about 15+ years (never missed one) when I decided to stop taking it and I got pregnant pretty much right away…about two months after.  I was surprised it happened so quickly as I was already in my late 30’s.

I was on the pill for 14 years. I came off in June, gave myself three cycles to try to regulate, and then my husband and I started trying. I got pregnant our second cycle trying. I went on the pill because my periods were super irregular and my cramps were unbearable. I was expecting the worst coming off the pill, but surprisingly I immediately had 30-day cycles and barely any cramps. I felt much better off the pill so I don’t plan on ever taking it again.

That said, I’ll echo what a few others have suggested – maybe wait until after the wedding to go off the pill just in case your hormones are a bit out of whack!

I was on the pill for 7/8 years.  I stopped taking my BC at the end of May with the idea that we would start TTC in the fall and use condoms in the meantime.  I had one cycle off the pill and then became pregnant in July.  I was surprised, Darling Husband was not. I thought it would take at 3 months to regulate, but it didn’t.

lincolnparkbee :  you’re giving me hope! I went on the pill in my mid-20s because my periods were crazy irregular and cramps were so awful. Being on the pill has been wonderful with light regular periods and no cramps. I got married this past year and my husband and I are planning to try to get pregnant in the next few years and the thought of going off my birth control pills just makes me so nervous. I hope I regulate like you did!!
