Your finger looks skeletal in the second pic. No offense. :/

Maybe a smaller stone would look better. And then maybe you’re fiance could use the extra money for a higher quality diamond or some side diamonds.

@happilyeveraftergirl:  Certainly. I have a 3.12 round brilliant solitaire diamond on a 4.5 size finger. My band is knife edge yellow gold with 6 prongs in white gold. Please let me know if you have any additional questions. Also, mine is set pretty high due to the size of the stone, and Fiance and I just liked the look (we had it custom made).

I always love simple bling (if that make sense), so if you do too, I would go with the larger stone! Good luck : )

@jg780806:  Seriously?! Jealous much?

@happilyeveraftergirl:  Please ignore the above poster. Your fingers do not look “skeletor at all.”  Also, LOL on the comment about using the money for a higher quality stone. This is clearly someone who is jealous and/or being deliberately rude.

@happilyeveraftergirl:  ha thanks for the props. It’s really about what you like- for the price of my 2.2cttw three stone ring we could gave gotten a sick 3.5ct brilliant solitaire, but I love the craftsmanship of my setting and the elegance of my ring. Plus I don’t need everyone to assume our financial status from my jewelry.

…I say this now but on our 10 year anniversary maybe I’ll feel differently ha 😉 to thine own self be true

@happilyeveraftergirl:  Your finger are petite and beautiful! Enjoy your finger as they are. I can totally relate on the jealousy issue. Do not let it affect your planning or relationship! Friends will come and go, but real friends will be genuinely happy and there for you along the way! I have a small group of really good friends. I used to be a social butterfly with a gazillion friends, and I honestly am much happier with a few real friends.

Point being: I know exactly what you’re going through. Enjoy your time becoming engaged and include only your real friends!

@happilyeveraftergirl:  BTW thank you for your comments on my ring! Fiance and I have been together 7.5 years; through thick and thin. He certainly got me the ring of my dreams, but I would’ve married him with a cracker jack ring (despite him being a pain in the ass). ; )

@happilyeveraftergirl:  It took me weeks to decide.  I went to every local jeweler in my city (which is big, so there were tons of jewelers) and tried on rings until I finally and painstakingly narrowed it down to 1.25 as the perfect size for me.  People always talk about ring shringage, but if anything, mine seems bigger and bigger to me the longer I wear it!

I think the 2.2 will be perfect for you.  The next time you go try on rings, take a pic of a **real** 2.2 cushion on your finger!

A lot of people have been really hurtful about me getting engaged as well.

Seriously?  Is it single or married friends that are acting like that?  I didn’t experience anything like that and I got engaged at 22, so I almost would have expected it!  People can be such jerks.

@happilyeveraftergirl:  Your fingers are so long and elegant (sorry if that’s creepy, haha)…I think the 2.2ct looks great on your finger for a solitaire, maybe the 1.8 (or a 2, if that’s possible?) for a halo setting!
