First of all, sorry this is long. I know a lot of people have posted about similar topics, but every situation feels a little different and I would appreciate any and all advice!
I had a friend in college, and we were really close my sophomore and junior year (junior year was 2 years ago for me), but we were really more like casual friends my senior year. Now that I’ve graduated (she’s a year younger) I’ve only seen her one time and we live fifteen minutes away. I’ve tried repeatedly to keep in contact with her, and she’s blown me off a couple of times.
For example, one of the last texts pre-engagement I got from her was: “I’m bored. What are you up to?”
Me: “I told my parents I would see them, but I would love to see you some other time? Is there another time you’ll be bored this week?”
Friend: “I dunno. Maybe”
Yeah. That’s it. The one time I did see her this summer she was asking about me and Zach getting engaged and I told her I thought it would be soon. Then she asked if she could be a Bridesmaid or Best Man. I awkwardly laughed and said, “sure, if it happens” or something like that. I know there was a sure in there.
Since that day, I haven’t seen her or heard from her except for the awkward text conversation and the time she stood me up. Now that she knows Zach and I are engaged, she’s texting me and facebook messaging me. I honestly think she wants to be in the wedding just so she can get dressed up and for the attention. She’s only my friend when something interesting is happening. Do you guys have any advice? Do I just tell her that I can’t have more than four BMs or do I tell her everything? What do I do???
