It just really depresses me. Thanks to Facebook, I have access to pictures of myself all the way back in 2007. I know that bodies change as we get older and as our lifestyles change, but I just can’t help but get a little sad.
I wonder how hard it will be to get my OLD body back (and I mean four years ago) after this baby.
Anyone else ever do this or feel this way? Any tips on ways to not get down on myself?

@MissDareDevil: I was thinking just about the same thing today. I’ve gained —too much weight — over the last four years or so. And I thought I could stand to lose weight back then. Now I realize, I looked pretty good, I’d be satisfied to wake up and look like that tomorrow morning.
If it makes you feel better, I recently noticed at least 3-4 acquaintances who have had babies within the past 1-3 years who have lost weight and look completely amazing. (I was also at my thinnest ever after having my second baby – nursing helps melt the baby weight away!) Your body may be a little different but you can still look wonderful!

@MissPine: thanks, that helps. i have been really nervous about losing all this weight. i want to cry when i step on the scale sometimes. i hope my body bounces back–and then some!

We’re all our own worst critics. I’m constantly comparing my body to others, and even to my own body 5 years ago. At the end of the day, we’re lucky to be happy and healthy. It’s hard to remember that sometimes (especially with the extra pregnancy hormones, I’m sure!), but just try to be where you are.

@pinkandsparkly: yes, i definitely think these hormones make it worse. sometimes I just want to scream into the mirror “I HATE YOU!”

@MissDareDevil: From what I can tell, you are a teeny tiny little hottie. You have nothing to worry about! I think you are being too hard on yourself. Plus, you are expecting, so that might be why you are feeling a little bloated 🙂

Yeah, understood. I gained 25 pounds this year. I’ve dropped 5, but I look back at old pics…and think I used to be cute. lol.

awwww. I think you are feeling this way because of the pregnancy!!! I for one think you look great! I’m sure you will bounce back to your pre-pregnancy weight IF you think you gianed too much. Again, I think you look great! 🙂
