So my grand scheme of altering my mom’s dress to fit me turns out to be a bust. My mom went to take the bust darts out so that I can fit my G’s where her D’s were. Yeah… a combination of the seam being there so long and cheap acetate means that there are (I’m taking her word for it as I’m 1600 miles away) obvious holes. So that means I’m back to square one for a ceremony dress.
I have one dress that I really, REALLY like. However, I showed it to FH and he hates it, however said he could like it more if the sleeves didn’t go so far down the arm, which seems like an easy fix.
So hive, what do you think of it?
I love that I wouldn’t have to worry about spilling over or creating obscene cleavage (a worry with every other dress). I have a dress with a similar fit (looser top, the other dress is a pencil skirt) that I love- which he also hated when on the hanger.

I think we’d have to see it on you but I like it. I’m also going for a more modest look.

I honestly think this dress is adorable. It has that glam Hollywood, 1940’s Esther Williams thing going on. **cute**

I think the dress is gorgeous, but would love to see pics of you in it. I have a friend who has G’s and she does the same thing. Tries to tone it down a bit, so I understand where you’re coming from.
I think its adorable, but I want personal pics! (spoiled I am) lol

Is this dress available for you to try on? I think its kinda cute but if you have G’s, it will look very different on you than it does on that a cup model so definitely try before you buy!

Hmm… I dunno. There’s sort of a lot going on up top. I can see how you think it might minimize a large chest, but I can also see how this might draw attention to your chest.

Yeah, I agree that trying to “minimize” by hiding in lots of fabric can sometimes backfire. How does it look on you?

I kind of hate it on the model because it looks like she forgot to take the smock off after getting her hair done because it’s soo loose. I’m guessing with your G’s in it though it won’t look so drapey. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the bottom of it though. Just enough sparkle without being too obnoxious. I agree with PP though that we would need to see it on you to know. 🙂

@emilygrace07: Yeah, I have a bit more to fill it out with.
I’m planning on ordering it this weekend and if it doesn’t work, the shop as a 14 day return policy (it’s in CA). I wanted to make sure there wasn’t something glarringly wrong with this dress that I was missing before I ordered it.
This isn’t so much to minimize them as just flatter my shape without looking like a porn star. Though, minimizing would be a nice bonus.

I love it. How’s the back? Are there more pictures?

I think is really pretty but as a large chested woman myself, I’m also worried that that style top will just make you look even bigger (I know it does with me). But the bottom is beautiful and you’ll definitely have to post pictures of it on you for us once it gets here!
