This is what I ended up with:

Haha, this is great.

As a little kid (mostly I just wanted long lace sleeves, but this pic was pretty.)

At 12 I decided my wedding colors were light pink and black, but my best friend told me no one could have black at a wedding. So bees, a whole bunch of you are doing it wrong.

At 15 I departed from ballgowns for a while, and wanted a sexy slinky number like this. It might have looked good on my body at 15, but there is noooo way now.

Last year I wanted a blingy satin ballgown that was a big as humanly possible.

We’ve since changed our whole wedding theme (for the better) and my sweet tea-length vintage-y dress should be here next month!

Wow, I love a heap of these dresses and they are actually ones I haven’t seen before!

@misschickpea: Where did you find the picture of that first dress?

@Sesame Snap: Where did you find the pink dress? It makes me smile!

@Butterbee: Where are your first and second last dresses from?

Yes I realise that the dresses I like are not the ones you like anymore but oh well.

I don’t really have any pictures, but as a kid I imagined myself in a big dress. When I was a teenager I wanted something really vintage and tea length. Now I’m looking for something simple with a little detail and a-line.

I must have been missing out, because I never really thought about this when I was young.  But in my early 20’s I wanted something flowing/chiffon with an empire waist, then a few years later wanted something sleek/satin sheath.  I ended up with an all lace trumpet silhouette.

I wanted a ginormous ball gown and got it, but then I had to buy a new one.

Bwahaha! Awesome thread.

When I was little, I desperately wanted to be Cinderella:

When I was engaged to my ex, I was seriously considering Maggie Sottero’s Sarchi. I nearly bought it but something held me back. 😛 The idea of marrying my ex, heh. I loved the colored beading:

And now this is my dress. Vera Wang’s Gemma:
