@smellyelly3:  I don’t have any suggestions, but I’m wishing you luck!  I didn’t want any of the same old cake toppers either so it took me forever to find one that I liked.  You might want to check out some of the places that other Bees have found their custom made cake toppers.

You could always try to find a seller who makes custom cake-toppers on Etsy. It may cost a bit more to have it custom made, but it guarantees that you’ll love it!

I would say time of year is off but Christmas decorations are probably a great bet for a lightweight french horn, but come to think of it you can probably get this online any time of year, then you just need to stick it on a base and personalize (or get a DIYer friend to do it if you’re not super crafty)

@lionskitty:  What a good idea to look into Christmas decorations/ornaments! I would have never thought of that. 🙂

@Gemstone:  Thanks! 🙂 I’m cheap and crafty so I kinda go, why etsy when I can DIY? not that etsy stuff isn’t beautiful and often better than I can do but maybe not enough better to justify the cost… A crafty mum, Girl Guides and being a design student kind of get you to think repurpose repurpose repurpose
