I think it could be a cool idea to maybe contribute towards a vacation package that they can use towards their one year anniversary.

I’m assuming there is no registry?

You could always get her lingerie or a gift certificate for beauty treatments, a message, etc. If she has a Pandora bracelet, you could get her one of the wedding related charms. Maybe they need something for the ceremony, like nice toasting flutes or a cake serving set.

Art, money towards a honeymoon/gift certificate for an excursion, cash/cheque, etc.

do they like candles or wine?  You can google “bridesmaid candle/wine poem” and there are really cute poems where you buy a certain number/type of candles or wine bottles for different occasions.  Then you can read the poem at the shower (or just include it with your gift).  It makes for a really sweet gift

Candles or reed diffusers.  Seriously. We just bought a house and we burn through all of our airfresheners so fast.

What are their hobbies? A picnic basket that comes with utensils and a blanket is sweet for a outdoorsy couple, a wine and cheese basket with a certificate for a local wine tasting is nice for a wine-and-cheesy couple.  A big basket of luxurious bath products is always nice for a bride (because who doesn’t need to be pampered), especially de-stressing products packed with jasmine.  A “post office” desk set including return address labels with “Mr and Mrs _______” and their address, envelopes, romantic stamps, a letter opener, etc.”

@sbeber1987:

My uncle gave us a few things with a little saying when we got our house:

A loaf of bread that this house may know no hunger
A box of salt that your life will always have flavor
A bottle of wine that this house may always have passion

I recently bought a good friend a gift certificate for an indoor rock climbing place. They live in a small apartment that’s already full of things, so I wanted to get them something they can do together. And, they can use it any time they want, like in the middle of winter as a “date night” thing to do.
