Hi everyone! I am currently looking for wedding venues right outside of Philly because we want an intimate wedding setting, but also want to go back into Philly for our wedding night. We have decided to have a Christmas wedding, so I’m looking for venues that decorate for Christmas and will comfortably fit 100-125 people. My fiance and I are currently living in Central VA, but with both of our families from the PA/NJ/DE area, we want to get married up North. I am trying to put a list together of possible venues for us to tour when we come up in mid-December. We have already made an appointment to see the William Penn Inn, so anything else similar to that venue would be great! Any suggestions would be very appreciated! Go Eagles!

@phillybride61513: I’m like 99% certain Longwood doesn’t have weddings. But you can definitely take your pictures, there!
Not sure how they decorate, but I’d try The Stone Barn and William Penn Inn. If you’re willing to do NJ, Braddock’s is beautiful decorated for Christmas. Here is their site: http://www.braddocks.com/ And more pics are on their FB page: https://www.facebook.com/Braddocks

@LCbiomed11: Have you looked into the Old Mill in Rose Valley, Pa? It’s set back in the woods with a lot of stone/brick. I think it’d be super cozy in the winter. I went to a wedding there last year and it was gorgeous.

Congratulations on your engagement. I see you are looking for a venue for your wedding. If Brooklyn NY is not too far for you I have the perfect place in mind. The Grand Prospect hall. I would like to invite you to come take a look at our hall to possibly host your wedding. If you are interested please give me a call at 718-788-0777 and ask for Michael D. Thanks and congratulations again.

@LCbiomed11: I’m getting married in May at the Valley Green Inn in Fairmount Park. I tend to stay clear of winters since moving to California a decade ago, but the winter pictures there are beautiful! 🙂

@LCbiomed11: I have a friend who had a Christmas wedding at the Mendenhall Inn in Concordville…it was gorgeous and just happened to be the day of the big blizzard in 2009.
Also, their other property, the Concordville Inn, does a lot of holiday weddings and there’s a hotel on site.

It thrills me to see all the love for the Old Mill–that’s where we’re getting married in less than a month! Yay!
It’s so unique and beautiful. Can’t wait.

I’m getting married in September at Aldie Mansion in Doylestown. You should see it with a beautiful blanket of snow. It’s decorated nicely inside for the holidays with cozy fireplaces but my favorite part is the stunning balcony outside. Doylestown is a nice town about 30 minutes outside of Philly.
I found my wedding venue on partyspace.com. http://partyspace.com/philadelphia/bucks-county-weddings/historic-venues/aldie-mansion/
Aldie Mansion has a Facebook page too with some great snowy photos.

I got married at Cairnwood (~30 mins from center city)… The place is gorgeous and it goes crazy with decorations for Christmas!

I’m getting married at the Joseph Ambler Inn in North Wales, which is pretty much down the road from the William Penn Inn. It’s a gorgeous setting, much like all of the suggestions you recieved! I love the Valley Green Inn, I bet that would be gorgeous with snow on the ground!
