I plan on having my wedding on August 3, so I would like to have an outdoor ceremony and and indoor reception due to the heat. We would like a ceremony with a waterview or with a very large oak tree. We have been looking at Chota Falls (GA), Peach Brandy Cottage (GA), Mountain Gardens and Ballroom (AL), The Mountains of Big Canoe (GA), and The Ridges Resort (GA). All of these venues have what we are looking for, but they are more expensive than we can really afford for 120 people. Any ideas?

I looked into quite a few places like that in North GA and ran into the price being an issue. What about Amacalola Falls? How far north are you looking? We are getting married at Rock Barn in Canton and for a Frday-sat rental it is $1000

@tori42690: Hi Tori! I am getting married at the Ridges Resort in March. It will be a good bit cheaper for me because January-March they don’t have space rental fees since it’s the “off-season” but I just wanted to let you know they still might be able to work with you. I had a little bit of a freakout about how much money my parents were putting into this 1-day only affair a few weeks ago, & pretty much wanted to call the whole thing off & just elope. My parents talked me down from that emotional cliff & suggested I talk to the wedding coordinator & see how we could change the budget. Renee has been SO accomodating & has changed so much of the menu options to give me a much more affordable per person cost.

I’ve never heard of those places you mentioned so I’m not sure how far away they are from this venue, but it is beautiful! It’s called the Cornelia Community House located in Cornelia, GA. It’s where I am getting married. The rental fee is anywhere from $600-$1000 depending on how many guests you have. Pictures below.

A good girlfriend of mine got married at Southern Tree Plantation and it was absolutely beautiful and pretty reasonably priced too 🙂 It’s up in the mountains and the ceremony site looks over the view – so gorgeous!
Depending on what you consider “North Georgia” there are some really great venues that are on the West and South side of Atlanta that are wonderful and very reasonably priced. If you’re interested in that area – shoot me a PM and I’ll give you more info!
