How about Fiji? It looks quite affordable.  I’ve heard that the main island doesn’t have a great beach, but the smaller islands are gorgeous – white sands and snorkelling.  One of my friends went to Mana Island last year and she loved it.  See http://www.manafiji.com/gallery.html.  I think there are lots of other similar islands too.

Good luck!

I am not sure what your honeymoon budget is – – We are marrying in October and going to Moorea (3 nights) and Bora Bora (5 nights) in February.  The rates were much lower. We’re flying on miles and then 3 of our nights in Bora Bora are from our Amex points.  If you’re booking your own the prices are much higher. We booked through Tahiti Travel Mate (after looking into Costco and AAA) which I found on another WB thread.  The deals they’re able to whip together are amazing.

Point of my post – – – don’t knock out your dream honeymoon because you think its outta your price range. Look into it and the $$ options….

We’re going to Belize. We found a private island called Royal Belize that’s actually pretty affordable! I’m really excited!!! We also wanted to do Bora Bora/Tahiti originally, but it’s so expensive. This was about 1/3 of the cost and we get the whole island to ourselves. Heck ya!!!!

If you want something with a South Pacific feel, but don’t have the time or budget to get there, St Lucia is a great choice. You’ll find mountains, bike trails, a working cocoa plantation, and the world’s only drive in volcano crater. Many people refer to St Lucia as “the South Pacific of the Caribbean.”

Please let me know if we can help!
