A plain band would be stunning with that ring and wouldn’t take away from it. Alternatively you could get something that matches the band of your e ring, but that might be a bit much. You’d have to try it and see. I recommend getting out there and trying a few things on. You’d be surprised by what looks good when you put them together.

Choose a wedding ring that can be worn with the engagement ring or worn alone.

Don’t think of the wedding ring as an ‘also ran’.  Think of it as (at least) an equal star of the show and choose something beautiful in its own right.

In an perfect situation the wedding ring enhances the engagement ring, and the engagement ring enhances the wedding ring.

Think of practicalities.  The wedding ring has to last 70 years so if you have an active lifestyle you might be better with a bezel setting rather than a pave setting. You might even want your wedding ring to be specially made rather than ‘off-the-shelf’.  Choose a ring that can be re-sized.  Even the best regulated of us can gain or lose weight.

Think of fun.  You could have a special inscription or date or secret gemstone put inside.

See whether or not the rings rub together.  This is especially important if both bands are set with diamonds.  You don’t want the two rings to damage each other.

As your engagement ring’s shank is broad you could choose a narrower wedding ring in a contrasting metal or diamond colour. Or consider wearing the two rings on different hands.

Whatever you decide make sure you go for elegance.  Choose something that is going to complement a young hand, a middle-aged hand and an older hand.

Other than this I have no further advice except do make sure that you have fun trying lots of rings on.
