- Wedding: April 2014
Hello!! I am in search of a wedding venue in Southern California that will fit within my budget of 10k for the whole wedding. The fiance and I have calculated that we can afford to spend around 5-6k for the venue and food combined, so if it’s a place that doesn’t provide catering (which is preferable as I think it will be cheaper to find outside catering), then we have anywhere from $2500-$3500 to spend on the venue. I want an outdoor ceremony, preferably in a garden-type setting, but I’m much more flexible for the reception. It would be nice to have it outdoors, but SoCal is notorious for cool evenings, so it might be safer to have it indoors and avoid having to also rent heaters. I’ve spent a few weeks looking and come across a few ideas, but I’ve yet to find a venue that really fits my dream for a price we can afford. I’ve considered renting an estate if we could find one that would let us host there, but that’s not panned out well so far. I’d love to have some recommendations from fellow WeddingBee users! Our date is set for April 27, 2014 (so we still have ample time to book) and we would like an afternoon ceremony with an evening reception for approximately 100 guests. Also, we’re based in LA, but happy to travel down to SD, Temecula, up to Santa Barbara, etc. Only area we’re set against is the mountain area (just due to unpredictable temps!!) Any recommendations would be GREATLY appreciated!!!
