Hi DC Bees! Can anyone recommend an affordable DOC? We have had a long engagement and I’ve enjoyed doing all the planning on my own, but I want some peace of mind on the big day. We trust our vendors to take care of nearly everything, but we know snafus do happen. If you know of a good DOC, please pass on her information and, if you don’t mind, give me a ballpark cost. Thanks!

I loved my DOCs from Embellished Affairs. They were inexpensive but probably the BEST expense of the wedding. They took care of all these little glitches without me hardly knowing about them, and everything looked gorgeous as a result. I think we paid about $400.

These gals just had a launch party and they seem fabulous. Was really impressed with what they put together…

@elaineathon, was that a promotional price or did you negotiate with them? I emailed them for a quote for DOC services and they told me $1000. 🙁 I can see prices going up, but not quite that much…any suggestions?

I am a hyper-organized, overplanner with an eye for detail, a mind for organization and a heart for romance. I’ve never been a Day of Coordinator (in any official capacity) before, but I would love to run your perfect day as just that — perfect! I am a (by day) salesperson, have no trouble dealing with stress/snafus/communication/money/etc. and would love to help you out with your big day for only $200! Let me know if you’d be interested — I’m a bee myself, a bride-to-be as well, and I understand the stresses of the budget! I will do a $10,000 job…swear 🙂

We’re working with Pavaune of Invited Event Design and Production, and she is FABULOUS!!!! Seriously she rocks!! She was also Mrs. Lamb’s planner from here on Weddingbee! Check out her website for more information at http://www.invitedeventdesign.com. I don’t think there are quotes available online, but when we emailed her, she got right back to us! Good luck!!

We are also using Pavaune (she’s so fantastic) for day of coordination, but I would not consider it affordable if you think affordable is inexpensive. She’s definitely more than I thought I’d pay a day-of.
A little less expensive was Something Blue day of, but I met with Pavaune first and just went with her. After hearing what friends in LA and elsewhere were paying for theirs, I thought she was more than reasonable for her personality, portfolio, list of duties for the day of, and hopefully her ability.

I worked with Lynnecia from Sophisticated Events for my wedding in June. She was wonderful to work with and having a DOC made the day of the wedding SO much less stressful. She was there for whatever I needed and would appear out of nowhere throughout the night with a drink, or a napkin or to answer a questions. I highly recommend her.
I actually found Lynnecia on WB. She was posting to solicit brides to give discounted services to help build her portfolio, as she has been doing event planning for years but is newer to wedding planning. As such, I don’t know how much she normally charges for DOC services, but she is fantastic so I would recommend you check her out!

Thank you for recommending Weddings by Janina Inoocentz!!!!!!!!!! Janina (Nina) was the absolute best and super affordable. Other DOCs were trying to charge me 1K but inooocentz was right Nina was worth every penny (I only paid $600 which is great compared to 1K others were quoting me). I decided to write this post because Nina was truly interested in making sure that my wedding day was everything that I envisioned it being. During the hurricane, she stayed at Starbucks to have internet so that she could finalize my schedule. She was always responsive to my texts and made sure that every detail was perfect. I don’t know what I would have done without her. My bridesmaids were raving about her and my family simply adored her. When she left the bridal party to take pictures so that she could set up the reception hall, everyone was like ‘where is Nina what are we going to do without her!” She left specific instructions with my photographer and was always a phone call away. My dressed ripped when we were taking pictures in central park and I was tripping all over myself. As soon as I got out the Limo, Nina was there with a needle and white thread to sew me up and fixed it instantaneously. I can’t recommend her enough. Her website is http://www.weddingsbyjanina.com and phone number is 347-733-8197.
I was blessed with the review posted by inoocentz and I hope that you try Janina if you are looking for a DOC because she truly cares. I’m posting this review everywhere so that brides can get a day of coordinator that truly goes the extra mile. Did I mention that she styled one of my bridesmaids hair (I tell you awesome!)

Sam.MC, stop posting fake reviews about Janina. You posted the same 3 reviews about her. I made an appointment to meet with her and she didn’t even show up. As a wedding coordinator, she failed completely. So glad that I dodged this bullet. To all other brides, think twice before hiring Janina – will she show up on your wedding day?

Wow sorry to hear that she never showed up! Hopefully she is okay (no emergency) and got back to you.
DMV area is so close you can find a planner in MD that services DC. Ladies research your planner prospects and check their reviews in multiple locations/sites.
Good Luck to all 🙂
