I can’t give you any tips on creating your own, but if your looking for a partial and inexpensive diy, check out Etsy! Search for “Printable Wedding Invitations”. There are seriously hundreds that are under $50 and even $30. How it works is you give your information (Names, dates, times) to the Etsy seller and they will personalize the card you choose. When it’s finalized, they will email you a digital file of your invitation and all you have to do is print! Of course you could do this at home, but it’s just as cheap to have them professionally printed on VistaPrints.com or even Staples.

Hope I haven’t confused you! I’m a little computer savy, I’m just terrible at explaining!

@bshepherd:  I DIYed 2 sets of invites, but I had to cut all the inserts myself with a scrapbook cutter.  These are my pocketfold invites:

These are my last minute, inexpensive invites:

I’m not sure what printing software you plan on using though, but I use photoshop and InDesign.  PM me if you want.
