You’re looking for a QiPao or ChiPao (I’ve seen it spelled both ways – here in China its the first, haha). Would you consider having one custom done through a Chinese ebay seller?

ETA: Traditionally, yes, these are long and fitted with a side slit. You CAN get them made with an a-line skirt though. Or you could get a top and skirt separately made from the same fabric.

Oh I absolutely love that!

Originally I wasn’t going to wear one because the traditional style is not to my taste but I’m feeling a bit pressured when asked by my friends and family because I do want to incorporate some of my traditions into the wedding.

I got mine custom made from here: http://www.efushop.com/ and i would definitely reccommend them! They were cheap, quick, and the service was great. Even better, when it came I was surprised at how good the quality was and how well it fit me (I just gave them my measurements). Good luck.
