@Angber21:  Im getting married in Seagrove Beach which is about 25 minutes from destin. Its a rental propertyy that is gulf front with a lawn in front where you can have the recepion at. The property holds 30 people and after the cost to stay at the place was divided evenly amongst everyone the venue was pretty darn cheap! Property is for rent with pearlyehiteproperties.com. Good luck!

Two options: 1. Have you looked at Henderson State park or Grayton Beach State park? They are both beautiful. 2. We are renting a large vacation home that sleeps 25 on the edge of Grayton Beach State park. It’s ceremony, reception and lodging all in one. VRBO is a great place to start.

I second Henderson.  I got married there and it was beautiful.  They will block off a section of the beach off for you and you can rent one of the large covered pavillions to use as back up in case of rain.  We rented one all day and actually held our reception here after sunset(we had less than 30 people, pavillion was perfect for our laid back reception).  It cost me like $600 with the permit for the beach and renting the pavillion all day and providing a park ranger for after the park is closed.  Another great thing about Henderson….it sits on about a mile of beach with NO CONDOS on it…so less onlookers at your wedding and a lil more privacy.

@Angber21:  You should ask your sister how she would feel about renting a large beach house for the wedding. It’d be dual purpose–you could house any out of town guests (depending on # of rooms that is), and use the beach area or even the backyard as a venue. 🙂
