Just want to say I think we are bridal twins and this thread is super helpful.. haha.  Have you made a decision?<br />Right now I am loving the Venetian Gold color as well.  I kind of want to go with a style that includes a sort of shine or sequin on it so it’s definitely “gold” and not “yellow”, but I also haven’t seen a swatch yet.. this week I’m going to go try some on at my local bridal retailers that sell Dessy and After Six!

My favorites are: After Six 6556, After Six 6672, Dessy 2844, Dessy 2908.. Let’s chat about this!  Haha.

2XMOB:  Your comment is very helpful and would be very helpful to those looking for Venetian Gold… do you think you could crop the heads out of your photos (maybe get daughter to help) and post here?  Please?  ๐Ÿ™‚

SaraJeanQ:  I had my husband work on the photo. He cut out my daughter (the bride) on the left and covered the face of my daughter (the matron of honor). She added an inexpensive beaded  embelishment that she either got at David’s Bridal or a local fabric store. The satin tops are shinier and therefore look more like a metallic gold. They tried to get a gown in all satin, but they were too straight up and down, where my daughter is pear shaped, and this design gave the two gals who needed it, more room in the bottom.

2XMOB:  GORGEOUS!!  Thank you soooo much (and to your husband)!  That is the first pic I’ve seen with good lighting in this color.  I am literally going to order dresses within the next few weeks so this is super helpful to me, especially in helping me feel better about the color I’ve never seen. ๐Ÿ™‚

Were you a fan of the color?  The guests?

It’s not a belt, just a bling applique thingy, that was sewn own. It was relatively inexpensive, but I don’t remember the exact price. The gown was $250 plus tax, for adult sizes. It had a matching gown for junior bridesmaids, but the groom’s 12 year old niece ended up being too tall for those sizes.

The men wore matching Dessy accessories, that I bought through their website. I bought the flowergirls’s gown on Ebay (sample, with tags). Although the same Venetian Gold, the fabric was different (organza?)- more like the ribbon on my daughter’s bouquet, and a bit darker, but was accented in the same gold satin as the top of the bridesmaids’ gown. It was a discountinued style, which was fine for me because it was $55 including shipping and I believe to order new would have been around $150.

The whole theme of the wedding was black and gold (with white/ivory). It was held in a historic theatre that had lots of black and gold and mirrors, and white and gold marble on walls and floors. Colorwise it was very cohesive (had to get chair covers for the teal chairs, though).

futuremrspep:  The photo of my daughter in the Dessy Venetian Gold color is halfway up the page. The palamino – if I remember correctly, is more of a tan/champagne.
