Hi,
I’m currently looking for inexpensive wedding venues near the Philadelphia area. We were trying to find decent venues with $60-70 per plate without a site fee. Does anyone know of any venues in or near the Philadelphia area that come around this price? We would have around 200-250 people invited which makes it even more challenging to find this. Also, would definitely consider a Sunday evening reception. Anyone have advice on this?

Have you tried searching http://partyspace.com/philadelphia? That site helped me a lot when I was looking. You can search by venue size, style, area and then hopefully find pricing information on their individual sites.

@js9710: Where exactly are you looking? In Philly or in the burbs?

@js9710: If you’re open to NJ suburbs, there are a few places in the Cherry Hill and surrounding areas that could work. Try the Moorestown Community House, Valenzano Winery, Camden County Boathouse, The Bank on Main in Riverton NJ (which is GORGEOUS if you’re having a smaller wedding), or Lakeside at Medford. All of those places have a lot of catering choices, including some that would have some packages in your budget. Off the top of my head, if I’m remembering correctly, I think Due Amici Catering had some packages with lower prices and Bacio Catering as well. Good luck!
ETA–nevermind on the Bank on Main, I just saw it’s too small for your event.

@js9710: Also if you’re willing go go even a little further out from Philly, you could also try Hamilton Manor in Hamilton NJ. I’ve heard they do nice events for a decent price.

@js9710: PnP caterers and the warrington country club fit the bill, unless prices have changed drastically.

@js9710:
I am getting married at the Hamilton Manor! 🙂 Our price is $98/pp but it is on a Saturday night in July. I think their packages on Friday/Sundays are $88/pp so that may still be too high for you.
Try “The Stone Terrace at John Henrys” in Hamilton instead. That was our second choice and their basic package is $74/pp but the lady seemed willing to negotiate on every little thing, lol (would have waived ceremony fee, etc for us) if you’re willing to go into NJ.

@js9710: Hi, my fiance and I are getting married at the Old Mill on Thursday, July 3rd. The site fee can be as much as $4000+, but because we are getting married on a Thursday, the site fee is only $750; it includes a selection of chairs and linens. THe ceremony fee is $100. The catering starts at $60, but doesn’t include alchohol.
