We have a fireplace that is in the main room at our venue, although my wedding is going to be all outdoors, we will be spending some time inside, and there is a beautiful fireplace. I am looking for inspiration pics of cute, modern ways to decorate this space. Do you ladies have any ideas? Did anyone have a fireplace that they decorated at their own wedding?
Here is a pic of the space the Texas star won’t be there 🙂 Oh and neither will the canldes..

Beautiful! We have a big fireplace and mantle at our reception location, too! Here’s a pic:

We are going to drape the mantle in a fabric that matches our tablecloths, and then we’ll have framed pictures of our parents and grandparents wedding pictures up there in matching frames along with some votives and bigger candles in glass holders. The order of pictures will be:
My grandparents, my other grandparents, my parents, me and Fi (e-pic), Fi’s parents, Fi’s grandparents, Fi’s other grandparents.
I found a lot of great pictures of mantle decoration while I was still planning… I’ll see if I can hunt them up for you!

OK, I have a few questions. :o) Which candles won’t be there? The ones on the mantle or the ones inside the fireplace or both? Will the fireplace be in use? Also, what are your colors or theme? (I’d use those as a starting point.)
One easy way to personalize that space would be to have framed photos of you and the mister on the mantle. Perhaps your favorite shots from the engagement photos. (Even better if you mix in some baby/childhood photos!) Start at opposite ends with the younger photos and meet in the middle with you two together now. Small vases holding blooms could be scattered among the frames to break things up and add color. If the mantle is too high (which it looks like it might be), perhaps you can set them up on the lower level.

Here’s some lovely vintage inspiration found here.

For something a little more modern, you could do this.

ooooo!!! Mrs. Spring, I love the last picture, pretty! And Craftypants I LOVE the idea of having younger pictures of us leading to the one of us together in the middle! Great Idea! I thought about putting picture frames, but I wanted a little something more then just random framed pics the mantle, so I like that your idea adds a little umph!
I also love the pic with the flowers inside the fireplace, so unique and modern and I would of never thought of it, sweet!
