So I’m going to start looking at bridal party transportation options for the wedding. We have the two of us, 6 BMs & 5 GMs. So there’s at least 13 of us in the limo and I’m not sure if the parents (3) will be in there, so I’m thinking an 18 – 20 person limo so we have plenty of room. Everything is happening in our town, so the boys would get picked up and dropped off at 2:30, ladies next to be at the church for the 3pm ceremony after the ceremony and receiving line we’ll be running around town for about 2 hours for photos and dropped off at the reception site by 6pm. Any reccommendations for getting good rates? Tips from those that have been there and done that? Anything I should look for in a limo company? Any Long Island brides with a company they’d reccommend??

@SagHarborBride: I booked with Lancelot limos and the owner seems really cool. He has good reviews too.

I had a limo driver tell me once, and it makes pretty good sense I think, that its always better to have a vehicle that you can walk into – like a limo bus or a trolley, because of the size and difficulty of manuevering around in your dress. We, personally, had a regular limo because it was the only thing I could afford to book and it wasn’t too big of a deal, but I definitely wouldn’t go with a stretch Hummer (which are even lower profile, even though they look HUGE).
And I know this isn’t the sort of advice you asked for in your post, but if you want to drink at all be sure to pack a bunch of extra champagne for after the ceremony (or before?). Our limo package came “with champagne,” but I didn’t realize that meant ONE bottle…with 14 people riding in the limo that meant we each got about 2 sips, lol.
