I am not engaged *yet* but I helped pick out my engagement ring with SO. When we were trying them on I felt that 1.25 carat looked and felt the best on my size 7 finger. I think any size you choose will be fine but ultimately it comes down to your preference and how big you are wanting to go. Good luck and what a gorgeous setting! Smile

Maybe what you can try doing is trying on rings with those sized center stones on in the store. I ordered a moissanite engagement ring, but also wanted to get a feel of different sized center stones on my finger. What I ended up doing was going to jewelry stores in town and trying on different rings until I found what I thought looked like the perfect size for my finger.

I have a ring from that website, the “Amora” size 7.5, which turned out to be too big for my finger, I need it resized to a 7.

I have a 3 stone, average size rather short fingers.  The 1 carat center stone WITH two side stones (half caret sides) is perfect.   1.5 caret may look too “fake” as a stone that large would cost a fortune and so who would believe it was a real diamond?  my stone is not too small, not too big, so everyone belives it’s a diamond. AND it’s perfect – – – shines, sparkles.  Amazing.  Better than a cloudy dull inexpensive diamond that cost 3 times what this ring costs.

Okay, mine doesn’t fit the brief but since you’ve not had any pics I thought I’d post:

Palladium, 0.75 carat equivalent on size 7.5 I think? So gives you an idea of smaller size on larger finger :p

@Mithralia:  Aw thanks 🙂 It is a bit big over here, but yeah, I think it’s the perfect size for me. It sits higher than I expected so I’m not sure how much higher a bigger stone would sit?
