@amy_outhwaite:  They carry Black by Vera Wang, Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauen etc tuxes, so I don’t see why they would be any different from any other tux rental place.

They likely also carry a no name brand which may be the ones that are available for the price you referenced.

The Moore’s here is horrible, I had two different appointments and both times I showed up and they had no record of it. My cousins wedding, alot of the men had buttons falling off that had to be sewn on right before the ceremony. You also need to like double check that they have everything exactly as you want it, some people who work there seem pretty incompetent.

Most people I know used Moore’s. Haven’t seen any issues yet. My Fiance has had to rent from them as a previous groomsman. Obviously, each individual location conducts themselves differently, so  @alleycat1984:‘s comment is not surprising.

We were going to rent a tux for Fiance for our wedding, but they had a 50% off suit sale and we got a gorgeous Alfred Sung suit that makes him look like a hot young James Bond for just a bit more than the tux rental cost for the Vera Wang Black that I liked ($200 for tux and accessories).

We have ordered two boys tuxedos from Moores. We are happy with the service so far. The woman helping us has been a pleasure to work with. The tuxedos that were tried on looked to be of good quality, but we haven’t picked them up yet.

The other rental place you can check out is Freeman’s Formalwear, although I’ve been told their quality has gone downhill as of late. There’s a Freeman’s on Yonge Street in Toronto.

Just so you know…

Moores Canada = Mens Wearhouse in the USA.

They carry the exact same products for the most part.

So you might want to see if you can’t find Reviews on-line for their US Stores.

Hope this helps,

PS… Mr TTR bought a “gently used tux” several years ago now, from a Formalwear Store (not a chain… more of a Formalwear & Tailor).  It cost him $ 200 and is not cheaply made at all.  The alterations were complimentary.  Accessories cost him maybe another $ 100 (those we bought at 2 for 1 Sales at Moores, Mens Warehouse & Jos. Banks in the USA)

Fabulous investment if you ask me… He owns the Tuxedo for less than what he would have paid for 2 Rentals.

He’s worn it several times a year since he got it… on cruises (formal night), and some fundraising events.  And he’s not nearly as self conscious in it as he thought he’d be.  He actually likes owning a tux.  PLUS it means that we knock things up a notch… and I’ll go the extra mile too when getting dressed for a special occasion.

And well, there is NOTHING Sexier than going on a Date with your own personal James Bond

😉 *wink*
