My fiance and I are recently engaged and planning a Fall 2015 wedding. We are hoping to find a rustic or industrial type venue for our ceremony/reception and haven’t had the most luck finding what we’re looking for for a reasonable price.
We live about 20 minutes North of Philadelphia in Lower Bucks County but are willing to travel up to an hour and a half (give or take) to find the right place at the right price!
Our venue/rentals/food/liquor budget is max $16,000, and our headcount is about 150
Ideal spaces would be breweries, old factory/loft spaces, etc. Our vision is hardwood floors, open space, string lights…
I have looked at *tons* of venues online and my brain is just fried. We visited the Allentown Brew Works and have a visit scheduled for Goggleworks in Reading. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

@teacupbride: The Joseph Ambler Inn fits for a rustic theme. I’m not sure of a price range though, but I have friends who got married there and their pictures came out gorgeous!

I’d also check out Beat Street Station. Just from a quick search on The Knot it looks pretty cool and like it would check quite a few of your boxes!

What about the Phoneixville Foundry? http://www.phoenixvillefoundry.com/ I’m not sure about price, but it does seem to be both rustic and industrial.

@luluvohn: I like the look of the Phoenixville Foundry but the room I prefer won’t fit 150, and the prices are a bit over budget. Thank you for the suggestion!

@Saria213: Thanks for the suggestions! Niether of those venues really have a way for you to hang things from the cieling from what I’m seeing on their websites. That’s one of the main things I really want in terms of decoration (stringlights, paper lanterns, etc.) so I am apprehensive to pursue anywhere where I can’t do that. I’m kind of wishing I didn’t really have a vision in my head, because then it would probably be a lot easier to find a place, haha.

@teacupbride: Front in Palmer in Philly. Peche at Sherman Mills in Philly. Lambertville Station Inn in Lambertville NJ

I think Front and Palmer will be over budget. That’s where we are getting married and while it sounds like it’d be exactly what you’ve described you are looking for, I don’t think you could get it for that price. We also heard great things about Powerpoint. Good luck!

Not sure if you’re still looking, but try the Carriage House at Rockwood Park. We were looking for venue as you describe on a simliar budget and guest count and that is where we ended up. It’s a renovated carriage house, so it has some of the rustic feel (stone, hardwood floors). Greenery Caterers is the exclusive caterer and they do a great job. And you buy your own alcohol, which helps with the budget.
It was surprised how hard it was to find something in the Delaware Valley in our budget that fit >125 guests that wasn’t a hotel. Good luck!

I looked into a lot of these places and found them all to be over my budget. Something else to keep in mind with INDUSTRIAL rustic (as opposed to “barn” rustic, like J.Ambler Inn for instance) is that you will need a lot more than you may think as far as decor. Even if minimalist is what you’re going for, it’s a blank slate that needs to be customized not only to your tastes, but spacially to fit a wedding “flow”
Not that this is what I think your looking for, but I fell in love with Awbury Arboretum. We’re booked there for 6 months from today. It’s more of a “un-maricured park” outdoor vibe than industrial for sure, but I decided that I wanted to be outside. I looked at it over Thanksgiving- it’s GOURGOUS in the fall.
My suggestion would be ask around. Someone you know might allow you to rent a space that they would not usually rent out for a wedding, but can work something out for you. If you know anyone in comerial real estate, maybe they could lease a space that no one is renting just for a night?
Just throwin’ it out there! Maybe there’s a bar or resturant that has the vibe your going for?
Try this site: http://www.phillyspacefinder.com/ rather than party space. It looks like it has some “untapped” spots.
Good luck, bee!
*Sorry for any spelling errors- this thing doesnt seem to have spell check?

The Loft at Jack’s Barn in Oxford, NJ. That’s my venue – is that too far? Google it, it’s gorgeous and the owners are great!

Have you had any luck? I am in the exact same boat as you.. exact budget, projected 2015 wedding, same amount of guests, and want the same type of venue. I looked at The Barn on Bridge and I’m in love with it but probably over budget!! Let me know if you come across anything! !

@teacupbride: For rustic, try Sweetwater Farm: http://gracewinery.com/parties/weddings_parties_gw.php
My dad and stepmom were married there about 15 years ago. It is really beautiful, though I don’t know how many people it fits.

@teacupbride: Have you looked at The Barn on Bridge? I have no idea about their pricing, but worth a shot if you like how it looks!
I’m getting married at Normandy Farm, which you also might like?!
