I have a couple of requests for you, my fellow brides and wedding gurus!
1) I still need shoes. My dress is this one [http://www.davidsbridal.com/Product_Strapless-Lace-Tea-Length-Cap-Sleeve-Gown-9T9948] from David’s, and my colors are sunflower yellow and sort of a navy blue, as seen in my bouquet (the blue one) and the one for my girls (the yellow) in this photo [http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash4/429044_10100525386568072_17108217_47258575_130204958_n.jpg]. The girls dresses are that deep blue with a small yellow trim on the hem. My thought was, either ivory or navy/deep blue shoes for me… I like the idea of a peep toe, small heel with the dress, since it is shorter, but I am a wimp when it comes to heels. I really need a thicker heel (more heel surface area means less falling over like an idiot!) and I can’t do more than about 2 inches. I’m not wanting to spend more than about 150 on my ceremony shoes. However, I also want some mega-comfortable shoes for the reception. So… if that means two pairs, then I’ll buy two pairs. If anyone knows of any magical super-comfy shoes that would also look good with my dress style, I would be extraordinarily grateful to you for your advice. 🙂
2) I am making my own guestbook in the style of this one [http://www.marthastewartweddings.com/sites/files/marthastewartweddings.com/ecl/images/content/pub/weddings/2003Q1/a99938_spr03_envelopebook_xl.jpg], with envelopes and cards for people to fill out with advice, well-wishes, silly pictures, etc. I’ve made several pages already using ordinary 12 x 12 scrapbook paper, and they’re super cute. Problem is, I want them bound in a 3 ring binder, and I don’t want to punch holes in the pages. I am no scrapbooking wizard– I do not know the ins and outs of the scrapbook world. I wondered if anyone knew any place that would sell like… reverse page protectors. Rather than sticking my pages inside a plastic cover (it’s would be hard for people to get to the envelopes that way!!), is there something I can adhere them to, so that the pages themselves are not punched, but maybe a sturdier back board is? I’ve considered looking for 12 x 12.5 paper or something, but that seems obscure. I know this is a weird, probably difficult to understand (due to my weekend brain linguistics) request, but if you know what I’m talking about, and have some advice, again, I would owe you at least a million thank yous. 🙂
3) I am a planner, but having had no experience with planning something on this scale, I am a little panicked that I will forget some key items on the day-of. Does anyone have a list of handy “you should definitely have these, even though you wouldn’t think you’d need them” items? Spare hose, needle/thread, snacks, bandaids, nail polish… etc. All those sorts of things. I feel like I’d be a little less crazy if I had a nice, pretty list to check off as I get everything ready to go.
Thanks so much for your help! <3
