The Farmer’s Almanac said my wedding day was going to be chilly and rainy.  The entire week before was exactly that.  It cleared up Thursday afternoon and was sunny and warm for the big day.  I will keep my fingers crossed for you but it is the one thing you absolutely can’t control.

One of the brides on this site posted a link to her photos and she had a rainy day.  I love her pictures and kept the link, in case I needed some rainy-day inspiration.

My wedding week weather was this: Monday-Sunny, Tuesday-Sunny, Wednesday- Sunny, Thursday-Sunny, Friday-Rain 40%, Saturday-Sunny, Sunday-Sunny.  My wedding was on the Friday. Needless to say I prayed a lot that week.  What happened was on Wednesday it said it would rain Thursday night and rain would stop by 3pm on Friday (wedding pictures starts at 3pm).  Thursday Morning and it was bright blue skies, not a cloud in sight.  I have never been so disappointed in my life see ing blue skies.  At our rehearsal at 5pm it finally started being cloudy and it starting raining right when our rehearsal ended at 6pm.  It rained all night.  Next morning at 10am it was still raining.  It did stop raining at 11am but it was still very cloudy so it was not clear that we were in the clear yet.  Thankfully it didn’t rain.  Someone told me they felt a few sprinkles as we were taking out portraits but I never felt it.  It was cloudy the whole time but like everyone said it makes for great pictures and it really does.

So look around your wedding day.  If it’s good the next day you can pray with the weather gods as I did and hope the weather moves more in your favor.  I tell people I made a deal with the weather gods and let them rain on my rehearsal instead.
