lisag103 :  London blue topaz sounds like it might be what you’re looking for, and they are typically not very expensive – it’s my birthstone so I’ve looked!

Personally, I’m considering having a RHR made from a green tourmaline. If you’re interested in that bluish-green hue, check out Etsy for green tourmalines as well. There are some gorgeous stones!

lisag103 :  I haven’t pulled the trigger yet, but I’ve hearted some indicolite tourmalines on Etsy. The sellers I’ve been looking at are KsGemstones and PrimeGemSource, which as a 1 carat seafoam green emerald cut tourmaline for $66. There are some sellers in Pakistan, but I’m not sure what Customs hoops you’d have to jump through!

Ooh check out BestinGems, out of Ohio. They have a 3.12 carat emerald cut tourmaline from Brazil for $100 and the shop has 7572 reviews and a 5-star rating. keep us posted!

lisag103 :  synthetic alexandrite? It’s blue or green in a lot of light though it also goes purple-reddish in other light. Could be very pretty

Three of my fave, less expensive but more uncommon blue/greens

Indicolite

Apatite (similar to Paraiba in some colors)

Tanzanite

lisag103 :  Would you consider lab created sapphires? I think they are just as great! stag&Finch have both blue and green lab sapphires if you are interested? What size are you going for and what cut?

I’m actually getting a 8mm cushion from StagAndFinch and it cost $300

heres some photo of their green and blue lab sapphires.. they can cut whichever cut you and and size you desire

Yes I figured you would like the indicolite. I love it too, and am looking for a RHR

These are tourmalines. Natural, not lab. The first Bill’s itself as a paraiba, and there may be something to that. Cuprian (copper-bearing to give a glow) tourmaline is much appreciated in the gem world.

Ok, so now I need to know where the first and last stones sunburn posted came from and their specs- they are stunning! And, where the first and second stone bctoquebec posted came from.

I’m loving this thread- these are the colors I love.

lisag103 I would have suggested a sapphire because I love the range of colors and I think they are hard enough to withstand everyday use, but I think this thread has given a ton of options- good luck!

How about a lab sapphire? Stag and Finch is on Instagram, they have some gorgeous stones at great price points. I think you’d find the rich blue or green you’re looking for there, too.
