I would recommend Rago. I actually found out about them from this site, because it’s a popular brand among fellow bees! And for good reason. They’ve been around since the 50s, I think, and they are real shapewear, not like that Spanx crap (which, let’s face it, doesn’t really do anything unless you are a size 4 with a tiny pooch).

I’m a size 10, 5’5″, about 160 lbs. and according to clothing measurements everywhere, my stomach is WAY bigger than it should be, not in proportion to the rest of my curves at all. I too bought a trumpet-esque dress (It’s a subtle trumpet, more of a fit and flare) and needed some serious shapewear for my belly. Rago works!!! I’ve never had shapewear actually work but this stuff does. The only problem is you’ll probably have to order it online (I got mine from americanshapewear.com), because it’s rarely carried in stores, and if it is, you won’t find the whole line there.

Sorry for the novel. I hope this helps!!

gelaine22:  sorry for the late response! I’m still learning how to use weddingbee. I ordered two pieces which I plan to wear together, because they just don’t have the same impact separately. I ordered the High Waist Leg Shaper Extra Firm Shaping #6207 — I didn’t get it for leg shaping, just for hips and waist. Its effects on my waist are decent, but where it really shines is what it does for my hips! The other item I ordered is the Firm Shaping Girdle (under Waist Cinchers) #821 — it really does nip in your waist. For whatever reason, as tiny as my waist looked with it on, it did strange things to my hips…kind of made them “bow out” in an unflattering way, hence why I am using both pieces together!
