I am in the complete beginning stages of wedding planning and would love to pin down a venue to kick everything off. My trouble is that I am looking for a blank slate. A raw space that I can basically leave our mark on. Everywhere I have been finding has been not appealing to me visually when I look at the pictures.
I am being diffucult, I know, but I had all these ideas in my head and am not yet ready to let them go, so I thought if any of you had any ideas that would be amazing. The only thing I know for sure is that I don’t want to have a reception in a barn or on a farm. Too many of our friends have already done so.
We most likely will be getting married in a church, so ideally only looking for reception space. We are looking at roughly 150ish people. I need to keep the venue cost low because there are a few other things I know I would prefer to spend money on… but since I am at the beginning stages of planning, our budget is not set in stone yet (working on it now.)
Location anywhere between boston and worcester would be great.

So what’s your general budget? And for which season?
An open air terrace would work for summer but not winter, and if your budget is 5k I don’t want to send you looking at any major ballrooms!

We are looking at fall/winter seasons. Right now our projected budget for the whole wedding will be between 10,000-15,000. I am having a slight heart attack just even writing numbers that high, but I realize its hard to do a wedding for less.

I sent you a PM with some ideas.

@font_nerd: Not sure if this is in your budget but the Artists for Humanity center is a pretty raw space. Also try Pequitside Farm in Canton which has a large lawn where you can pitch a tent (you’d have to rent the tent). Be sure to also browse http://bostonweddingvenues.com/main/
A friend of mine got married at the Cambridge Multicultural Arts Center but I think it’s above your budget
The Cyclorama is also a HUGE raw space for you to play with. http://www.stylemepretty.com/massachusetts-weddings/boston/2013/07/11/boston-cyclorama-wedding-from-kelly-dillon-photography-brighter-lights-media/
