Welcome stynkiemac! I think that dress is gorgeous! A line ball gowns are super flattering on us bigger girls because it gives up a defined waist and hides hips. If DB was carrying that when I started looking, I might have bought it. I think it’ll look great on you. I’m a size 16, and let me tell you that DB is one of the nicest places to shop because they have the selection in sizing. As far as Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses, I would look for something light and airy with a chiffon or organza overlay. Or, something shorter with an A-line skirt that pushes out like that. Good luck with your dress search!

I’m between a size 10 and a 12, and I chose a dress similar to this. It’s not quite a “ball gown” but it has a cinched waist and a fuller skirt.  I agree with @whitesonnet, it is super flattering.  It gives you the definition (mine makes my waist look super tiny) and hides the hips.  Mine was slightly more than the DB one, though.

My maids have a bill levkoff dress that is somewhat similar – strapless with a full-ish skirt and a band at the waist.  I found it online at; angelinatz.com – super discount (they got it for 118, in the store it was 160).

Hope this helps!  Good luck!

Ohh that’s my dress!!  It’s on sale right now too!  I bought a size 10 but everyone said it made my waist look tiny. It has 3 layers of tulle underneath and we are removing some so it’s a little more A-lined.  Have you tried it on yet? We already bought my Moh’s dress…but I have only one attendant and I didn’t care if our dresses went together.
