I had a fabulous experience in RK Bridal in NYC. They were really nice and helpful. They had many, many plus size dresses to try on. I was amazed at the number of dressed I could try on. Again…i’m a street size 26/28. (22/24 on top) Classic pear. I tried on about more than 10 dresses. And this was because I ran out of time. Don’t dispair. God is good.

If you need a Plus Size Wedding Gown, Azalea Bridal in Atlanta has a good selection for you to try on in the store.  Most places that I went before could not help me at all and only a very few would show me a picture and say they could order it.

Azalea was the first place that I could actually try on a wedding gown.  They have sizes in their store up to size 32! I paid $749 for mine and they let me put it on layaway free of charge.  It is a Mori Lee Julietta has real swavorski beads on it!  The people there are very nice and I did not feel pressured at all.  Highly Recommended!!!!!!!!!

Here is their website: http://www.AzaleaBridal.com

I’m a 22 and while not engaged yet, I know what company I’ll be looking to when I am planning: http://www.ariadress.com/

They are SUPER affordable, really cute and classic dresses and if you can’t visit them in LA, Boston or DC, they will ship you sample dresses to try on! $15 per dress seems pretty reasonable and while shipping back may be costly, I think it would definitely be wonderful to try on dresses in your own home. They go up to a 26, (53 inch bust) which isn’t as big a range as some other places but it definitely opens up some options to us bigger girls.

@jajanii: agree with you about RKF Bridal.  Went right after my trip to Kleinfelds and they had a lot more styles and sizes. Olga was an awesome consultant.  I love their name for the plus size dreses. DIVA dresses- so much nicer than BG at Kleinfelds.

I don’t know if you’ve found a dress yet, but I also have a wedding
gown I used for my wedding in October of 2010 for sale. I am a street size
18, the wedding gown is a 22 (on the tag in the inside).  It has a lace up back-which can help to expand or tighten in size if needed, had a lot of extra lace left when I used it, has bustle. beautiful dress.  The only alterations
made were the hem, so it can be altered down to a street size 12-14 with
alterations, Dress size 14-16. I am 5’6, and I wore 4 inch heels, still
worked fine. Planning to call the boutique I purchased the dress from and
will post the designer name when I find it out.  I paid 1300 for the dress.
If you are interested or have any questions, please feel free to ask.

Thank you 🙂
