Booked a florist, HB Florist and Gifts of Huntington Beach, CA, that I met at a wedding expo last fall in Anaheim. They sponsored the flowers for the expo and bridal shower and offered a 20% discount for all brides who booked consultations that day. I met with the florist the following week, signed a contract, and paid the deposit. It was a great deal for what I wanted, simple arrangments of green orchids and roses.
Needless to say the florist hasn’t called me back for a follow-up appointment we were supposed to have in January and countless phone calls and emails have gone unanswered. Drove by their last known place of business and they’ve closed. Super bummed, not just because of the deposit that I’ll now have to wrestle to get refunded through my credit card but that I have to restart my search for a florist.
So any bees who’ve had small wedding budgets in the Orange County, CA area that can recommend a florist I’d greatly appreciate it!!! On a tight budget because I’m still financially recovering from medical costs associated with having ovarian cancer last year so I definetly need to spend less than $750 if possible. No ceremony flowers, 7 centerpieces for reception, 1 bridal bqt, 5 bridesmaids, total of 8 bouts, 4 corsages, and 2 flower girl handtied bqts.

Oh that stinks! Have you thought about DIY- from Costco, or someplace online? That would definitely be within your budget

@liabttrfly: You were so smart to pay with a credit card!

Sorry to hear that happened! I don’t have any experiences with florists around SoCal. Our wedding will be in MN, so I went with one there. If you are okay with silk flowers, you could check Michaels or Jo-Ann Fabrics and DIY.

@liabttrfly: So sorry you are going through this. Good luck and I hope you get a refund from your credit card. 🙂
Also, I’m from the OC/LA area; PM me if you still need a florist. I’m in the process of looking for some and I’ve found some good ones.

Wow…at least you put the deposit on credit card though!

Thanks everyone! I used to do flowers but its been 5+ years since I’ve worked in a flower shop. I still have a resale license so I can definetly order the flowers at wholesale cost but the idea of taking on a DIY project like that before the wedding is a huge task. But push comes to shove I definetly will! Thanks Bee’s for all the support!

I would enlist the help of some creative friends and do it! I know it’s quite the project, and I don’t know what kind of price ranges they have in SoCal for florists…but it almost seems unlikely you can find one for that price at this close a time! Good luck to you, I hope it works out wonderfully!

I Agree with AndIlene,
You Can get bulk Flowers From Sam’s And Costco and arrange them Yourself.

From Long Island, but I know my sister in law was on a tight budget when she was planning her wedding. They went to a local stop and shop and were able to get a great deal, so maybe check out a grocery store?
Sorry you’re going through this, hopefully you find a solution!

Mine is French Buckets, i mean my budget was higher then yours was but I’m getting alot for what i’m paying and she seemed really reasonable and willing to work with any budget. Other wise i would say hit up some friends and hit the flower district in Downtown. And i’m really sorry that this happened to you.

Wish I could help, I’m not from that area. That’s awful to hear though. Really hope everything works out for you girl!
