pinkshoes : Just to counter this, I have these shoes and they are great for me personally for only an hour or 2 before my feet start to cramp. I think the tiny heel compounds the problem, as you have to use more active muscle to balance.
So, yeah, I’ll support the idea of wedges or block heels. It makes a MASSIVE difference in overall comfort regardless of other issues.
Aerosoles has always provided awesome options – they are the only shoes I can teach in all day and still wear heels.

Sephiroth : Awww, that’s a bummer! Yeah, I guess maybe for someone not used to heels I can see it being a problem. I’m pretty much in shoes like that everyday pretty much year round, some with even smaller heels, so I guess I was already really used to it.

pinkshoes : Yeah, it’s just such a varied experience, I think. For heel experience, I may be on the opposite end of the spectrum, honestly. I used to wear 4 in heels all day every day without fail. But in the past few years I’ve had to 1) drop the height a bit 2) focus on block heels more and 3) mostly use cushioned ones like Aerosoles. Still love me mah heels though.
It may be that as I’ve gotten a little older the natural cusion under the ball of my foot has become less effective at shock absorption, so I’m more sensitive to it now than I was when I was, say, 22. :p

I’m kind of similar in stats.. 5’8 but I have long legs and long torso. I like heels but I don’t wear them all the time so I’ve been looking at these by Sam Edelman:
These are 3.75″ tall
Depending on the style of your wedding dress, these are super comfortable style of shoe to wear.
These are also by Sam Edelman and these have a 4″ heel.

Oh my goodness ladies!! Thank you all for your insight and uplifting replies. I USED to be very comfortable in heels, but in the last two years converse have been my go-to pair of shoes. I am however one tough lady and I don’t mind a little pain for the sake of stunning photos.
I looked up the Vince Camuto heels today and I think I’ll order them this evening. A platform is probably the most honest comfort I’ll find, but it’s hard to find a pair that doesn’t look like pageant heels (IMO).
Also, my dress is a tight fit and flare, which was probably not the best dress for my shape but I’m wearing it regardless!!! First fitting is next month! Can’t wait to hear more and share more😘
